Pacific publicity in top gear

PACIFIC’S decision to make 10 donations to 10 charities to mark the company’s 10th anniversary is making the headlines.

Of course, it’s a bit easier to attract the attention of the media if you’re prepared to play along with photographers, who are constantly on the lookout for a quirky take on most stories.

So managing director Brian Gallacher was only too happy to put on his Top Gear hat to highlight the £500 donation made to Kibbleworks, who run a multi-themed entertainment and education complex in Hillington Park, Renfrewshire, called The Experience.

Flanked by Lynsey McLean, General Manager of The Experience, and Kibble Chief Executive Graham Bell, Brian took the chequered flag Lewis Hamilton-style on the charity’s emission-free go-karting circuit as he splashed the Pacific cash.

Thanks to the donation from Pacific, four staff at The Experience – which also provides vital jobs and employment training to young people – will undergo courses in Makaton, which is a method of communicating with people who have speech and hearing difficulties using signs and symbols.

This latest act of kindness garnered coverage in the Paisley Daily Express, under the headline “All geared up for sign language”.
