The Auctioneers, Glasgow

THERE’S lots more to like at a popular pub in Glasgow after an extensive two-week refurbishment.

The Auctioneers, on North Court, near George Square, is a favoured destination for many in and around the city looking for live music and sports on TV.

Well, The Auctioneers will continue to deliver in that regard but it now also offers a whole new look, together with a revamped food and extensive drinks menu.

Traditional pub entertainment, including live music, weekend DJ sets and a weekly pub quiz are also still on the bill.

And it’s all thanks to the comprehensive makeover masterminded by Pacific Building for clients Mitchells & Butlers, one of the largest bar and restaurant operators in the UK.

The three-week refurbishment programme – which was completed in the middle of February, 2019 and involved a two-week shutdown – involved a major strip out of:

  • Sound system
  • TVs
  • Alarms
  • CCTV system
  • Signage
  • Furniture
  • Partitions
  • Bric-a-brac
  • All toilet sanitary ware
  • Beer fonts
  • Window dressings
  • Back bar
  • Floor coverings

There then followed the makeover, which involved:

  • New lighting
  • Sound system
  • TVs
  • Furniture
  • Partitions
  • Bar top
  • Fonts
  • Signage
  • Floor coverings
  • Decoration
  • Toilet fit-outs
  • Timber cladding
  • Kitchens
  • New braic-a-brac
  • Blinds and curtains

Following the facelift and significant investment made at the pub, eight new jobs have also been created for the local area.

So there’s lots to like about The Auctioneers!
