CANCER Research UK is more than £500 better off, thanks to the generous staff at Pacific Building.
They raised £560 at the Party In The Car Park, held to mark the company’s move to Employee Ownership.
The bash coincided with EO Day, which is the UK-wide celebration of employee ownership and a major opportunity to raise awareness of the economic benefits and positive impact the sector has on the economy.
The Employee Ownership Association asked business to celebrate their EO status by “helping spread a smile” through charitable endeavours.
So the people at Pacific decided to dig deep for Cancer Research – and they invited the organisation’s fund-raising manager for Glasgow Katie Allan along to our head office in Hillington to pick up our cheque from Managing Director Brian Gallacher.
Katie said: “Our sincere thanks go to all the workers at Pacific who have not just helped a very worthwhile cause but have shown themselves to be people with a conscience.
“We are humbled when employees of companies such as yourselves get together to do good works for the benefit of Cancer Research UK.
“Well done, all of you – you have our sincere thanks and appreciation.”
Brian said: “Not for the first time, our staff have shown their kind and caring side. I am extremely proud of their achievement here.
“And it was great to welcome Katie and Cancer Research to the Pacific office.”
