New Sunglass Hut puts others in the shade

PACIFIC have delivered a vivid new store for Sunglass Hut in Edinburgh’s latest retail, lifestyle and residential development, St James Quarter.

The project involved the fit-out of an 800 sq ft unit for the Italian-based  Luxottica Group, who are the world’s largest eyewear company, operating more than 2,000 retail outlets in numerous countries and turning over in excess of £7billion.

The St James outlet was Pacific’s third Sunglass Hut following on from stores they successfully completed at Edinburgh and Glasgow International Airports.

Project delivery took eight weeks on a budget of £150,000 and comprised:

  • Glazed storefront
  • Flooring
  • Ventilation
  • Installation of video screens
  • Decoration
  • Suspended ceiling
  • Merchandising units

Handover to the clients took place at the end of June, 2021, and the new addition to the St James Quarter retail experience is visually striking, due to the use of vibrant colours, high-quality fixtures, strong lighting, video screens and eye-catching merchandising units.

St James Quarter is a new retail-led, lifestyle district that integrates into Edinburgh’s city centre, providing an attractive destination for locals and visitors to live, shop, eat and enjoy cultural experiences.

It houses an enviable line-up of restaurants, cafés, bars, shops, public spaces and leisure venues covering 1.7million sq ft.

We recognise that in UK and more precisely in Scotland, the best partner to build our (Luxottica) stores is Pacific Building.

Despite the challenging environment of COVID-19, the delay on the electrical meter installation and so on, they have been able to deliver a beautiful store in time for the opening.
