WORK to create a new executive lounge at Aberdeen International Airport started yesterday.
Pacific Building commenced a substantial programme to fit out the facility, which forms part of a massive £20million expansion programme at the airport.
The lounge will be one of two created within the new terminal, which will also boast an expanded baggage reclaim hall, a bigger security search area, new immigration facilities and new shops and catering outlets.
The project – involving a two-storey extension to the south of the existing terminal – started in 2016 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.
Pacific aim to hand over the new lounge to the clients by the start of May 2018.
Leading infrastructure group Balfour Beatty were appointed to deliver the airport redevelopment, which is the largest of its kind since the terminal opened in 1977.
Aberdeen International Airport is owned by AGS, who also own Southampton and Glasgow International. AGS is a partnership between Ferrovial and Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets.
