Pacific Building were delighted to be appointed to construct two McDonald’s drive outlets in Robroyston, Glasgow, and Nerston, East Kilbride – the first Scottish new-build restaurants for McDonald’s since 2003.
It took 12 weeks to complete each restaurant, including the internal fit-out. By employing innovative methods of construction – which inlcuded the assembly of a new style of prefabricated steel components offsite for speed of construction – Pacific ensured that both outlets were finished within the timescales expected.
The internal fit-out of both restaurants is based on McDonald’s “Purely Simple” concept, which aims to create a relaxed, more “upmarket” atmosphere with sophisticated interior layout and decor. Pacific Building has previously rolled out the new concept across a number of McDonald’s restaurants in the UK, including Scotland’s first outlet to feature the new design in 2009.
Pacific Building managing director Brian Gallacher commented: “We are committed to delivering all of our projects to consistently high standards. Our commitment to exceeding customer expectations has led to strong relationships with our clients.
“We’re delighted to continue our association with McDonalds’s and, in particular, to have been awarded the construction of their first new-build drive thru restaurants in Scotland for several years.”
