ONE of the McDonald’s restaurants pioneering the new “Fast Forward drive-thru” has been delivered by Pacific in Bellshill, Lanarkshire.
The principle behind the concept is to cut queuing times for customers by providing third service window.
Under the previous set-up, customers placed their orders, then drove up to a window where they picked up their food.
Now a third window comes into play if orders aren’t ready.
The drive-thru is an important revenue generator for fast-food chains – McDonald’s gets about 70 per cent of its sales from them.
McDonald’s spokeswoman Lisa McComb said: “It will enable us to better serve more customers quickly.”
For Pacific Building, the project was a standard, medium-sized internal fit-out but with the addition of a side-by-side drive-thru third window.
