McDonald’s first new-build restaurant of 2011 in Scotland was delivered by Pacific Building. The opening of the drive thru in Nerston, East Kilbride, followed that of another one in Robroyston, Glasgow, also completed by Pacific.
The East Kilbride building is partially modular, with elements being manufactured off-site to improve quality and reduce time spent on the build. The main structure is a steel frame, clad with a composite panel and finished externally with a mix of trespa panels, timber and stone.
Pacific managing director Brian Gallacher said “We are delighted to have completed our second new-build restaurant for McDonald’s.
“Our team worked hard to ensure that, despite the cold weather, we safely delivered a high-quality building to a level of excellence required by our client”.
