A sensitive development was required when Scotmid decided to take over a formerly empty high street retail unit and convert it into a funeral directors’ office.
Mood lighting, muted colours and tactile materials would require to be utilised in order to achieve the desired result – a warm and welcoming place for the recently bereaved to plan their farewells to their loved ones.
Liaison with the client’s management team was key, as was Pacific’s experience of delivering other similar projects for Scotmid. The premises’ location on Bridge Street in the centre of Dunfermline posed challenges in terms of access and timing but Pacific drew on their vast experience of delivering to deadline and to budget in busy locations.
Pacific’s keen understanding of the clients’ needs – having delivered a similar project for Scotmid in Uddingston, Lanarkshire – also helped with the smooth delivery of the project. The completed premises were handed over on March 10, 2017.
The Scotmid Funerals office is now delivering a vital service to the people of Dunfermline in the manner intended – sensitively, professionally and from a reassuring and welcoming environment that is testament to the professionalism of Pacific and its highly experienced teams.
