Pacific had to construct and fit out to an extremely tight deadline a brand new McDonald’s restaurant in the Winter Garden extension at Glasgow’s flagship Silverburn shopping mall. It was the first in Scotland to feature the fast-food company’s new conveyor belt food delivery system and it was the first in the country to feature the new “Wood and Stone” decor theme.
Pacific drew on their almost unmatched experience of delivering numerous demanding projects for McDonald’s to deadline and to budget. The outlet was handed over to the clients at the end of June, 2015, just seven weeks after the project was started.
The diner had to be decorated with natural wood and sustainable stone materials, as well as graphical representations of both. A new ceiling and tiled flooring were also installed, together with decoration, furniture and specialist joinery.
A major element of the fit-out was a full mechanical and electrical installation, which included the integration of new kitchen equipment and an extensive ventilation system routed through to the roof of the shopping centre at a height of 30 metres.
The outlet operates under the “Experience of the Future” umbrella – restaurants that allow customers to personalise their food for a better experience and make orders via mobile devices and self-order kiosks. It is also testament to Pacific’s ability to rise to deliver prestigious, cutting-edge projects.
