Caring, sharing Pacific

RENFREWSHIRE Carers boss Diane Goodman popped into the Pacific office on Monday (23/2/15) to pick up a cheque for £500 from Managing Director Brian Gallacher.

The charity is a one-stop shop that provides help, opportunities and respite for people in need of support in their caring roles.

A carer is someone who provides unpaid care and support to a family member, partner, relative or friend, of any age, who could not manage without this help. This could be due to age, illness, disability, long term condition, a physical or mental health problem or addiction.

Diane, who is the manager of the Renfrewshire Carers Centre in the Abbey Mill Business Centre in Paisley, said: “This is such a generous gift from Pacific Building, who are a company who clearly care for their local area.

“The money will help us support the nearly 24,000 carers in Renfrewshire who look after people with all sorts of conditions, illnesses and disabilities.

“Many people do not see themselves as carers – regarding themselves as a mum, dad, daughter, son, brother, sister, looking after a loved one, friend or neighbour.

“But we are here to help all of these people , and we can only do the work we do thanks to donations like this one from Pacific.”
