Benugo, Edinburgh

BENUGO is an upmarket New York deli-inspired cafe that is to be found on the high street, in public spaces such as parks and museums and via in-house concessions for business premises.

The operators pride themselves on providing top-class service allied to levels of quality and menu range that are equal or superior to Pret A Manger.

Waverley Gate in Edinburgh – which is home to an Amazon customer service centre, NHS Lothian’s, headquarters, Creative Scotland and Microsoft – is the perfect location for a Benugo concession.

Hundreds of people work within this refurbished historic former Post Office building at the corner of Waterloo Place and North Bridge, not far from Princes Street.

Providing them with a comprehensive range of inspiring eating, drinking and snacking choices is what Benugo does best.

It occupies prime position on the bottom floor of the building under an impressive atrium which maximises natural light and adds a pleasant feel to the communal seating areas nearby.

Behind the retained A-listed Italian Renaissance facade, Waverley Gate comprises 19,061 sq m (205,170 sq feet) of modern open-plan interior space arranged over eight floors, above and below street level.

Set up by brothers Ben and Hugo Warner, Benugo was inspired by the delis and fresh sandwiches of New York.
