Pacific Building
We exist to build great things

EACH month on the company website – and in every issue of the Pacific Bulletin – we’ll turn the spotlight on two staff members. Gerry McIntyre and John Caulfield are the next two – selected via a random number-generating programme – to be featured.

Favourite holiday destination and why:
Maldives as it is very peaceful and a beautiful place to wake up in the morning with excellent service

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be a joiner and had an apprenticeship three days before I left school. I really enjoyed being on the tools but realised I didn’t want to be on the tools on building sites until I retired so moved into management at around 23 years old

How would your friends describe you?
I asked my best friend Mandy about this and her reply was – loyal, loving, reserved and family orientated

What’s your favourite karaoke song?
Don’t do karaoke. Too shy!

If you could be anyone (real or fictional) who would you be and why?
Myself. I don’t want to be anyone else. I am happy with my own life and the key people in that life.

Top four dinner guests (dead or alive):
Thor, Wonder Woman, Thanos and the Hulk. It would be a riot

Favourite movie:
Top Gun

Favourite meal?
Seafood starter, Chateaubriand main course and cheesecake desert

Greatest achievement?
Personal achievement would be marrying my wife Mandy having chased her from the age of 14 to 19 when we finally got together, (nearly 36 years ago) and having my two sons James and Thomas. Professional achievement is being asked to work on the Burj Al Arab in Dubai as a Construction Manager for the consultant WS Atkins and being part of a great team driving it to completion, working closely with an excellent client team

Given the chance, what rule would you implement in the workplace?
Everybody to work as one team and stop the bitching. It really bugs me when people continuously try to criticise their colleagues instead of trying to help them
